Minimum Installation Requirements for Labinfy On-Premise Implementation
This page provides information on supported operating systems and the minimum requirements needed to install and use the self-hosted version of Labinfy. For the on-cloud version, these software and hardware requirements do not apply.
Operating Systems
Compatible 64-bit operating systems are listed below:
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and 20.04 LTS
System Software Requirements
Optimal Labinfy can be deployed on a single server with the listed minimum requirements, including an operating system with Java runtime and the installed database server.
While all system components can be installed on a single physical server, it is highly recommended to have the database server and web server deployed on separate physical hardware.
Database Server
MariaDB 10.7 or higher
Application Server
JVM 17+ (Java Virtual Machine) – Oracle or OpenJDK
Minimum Hardware Requirements
The choice of hardware needed to run the Labinfy platform depends on the anticipated system activity (e.g., number of samples, users, and complexity of operations) and the maximum number of simultaneous requests the system can handle during peak times. The hardware requirements described below correspond to the minimum hardware configuration needed for the system to function correctly.
If firewalls or any other installed software or hardware prevent the platform from communicating with necessary services or being accessed by users, such hardware and software must be configured before installation.
Server Memory
Memory requirements depend on the number of users and expected workload. Workload is influenced by factors such as – but not limited to – the number of users, samples, analyses, and reports generated. Your exact needs may be greater, depending on these factors.
6 GB of RAM is the minimum required memory size, and 16 GB of RAM is sufficient for most use cases; systems with high load expectations may require more memory.
Disk Space
50 GB allocated for the database is sufficient for most use cases. However, as more data is collected through the platform, additional disk space is needed.
It is recommended to plan for disk space extensions if large volumes of data are collected using files. We also recommend reserving space for backups in production systems.
CPU
CPU requirements depend on the number of users and expected workload. Your exact needs may be greater, depending on your workload. Workload is influenced by factors such as – but not limited to – the number of users, samples, analyses, and reports generated.
4 cores are the minimum recommended number of cores and are sufficient for most use cases.
Network Connectivity
At least one dedicated IP address.
Supported Browsers
Optimal Labinfy is compatible with the following internet browsers:
