Minimum On-Premise Installation Requirements

This page includes information on supported operating systems and the minimum requirements needed to install and use Formulamix's on-premise (self-hosted) plan. For the cloud version, these software and hardware requirements do not apply.

System Software Requirements

Optimal Formulamix can be deployed on a single server with the listed minimum requirements, including an operating system with Java runtime and the database server installed on it.

Although all system components can be installed on a single physical server, it is highly recommended to deploy the database server and web server on separate physical hardware.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

The choice of hardware required to run the Formulamix platform depends on the expected amount of system activity (for example, number of ingredients, users, and operational complexity), as well as the maximum number of simultaneous requests the system may receive during peak hours. The hardware requirements described below correspond to the minimum hardware configuration necessary for the system to operate correctly.

If firewalls or any other installed software or hardware prevent the platform from communicating with required services or being accessed by users, such hardware and software must be configured before installation.

Component Requirement
Server memory Memory requirements depend on the number of users and expected workload. Your workload is influenced by factors including, but not limited to, number of users, ingredients, nutrients, and generated reports. Your exact needs may be higher depending on these factors. 6 GB of RAM is the minimum required memory size, and 16 GB of RAM is sufficient for most use cases; systems expected to handle high load may require more memory.
Disk space 50 GB allocated to the database is sufficient in most use cases. However, the more data collected through the platform, the more disk space is required. We recommend planning disk space expansion if large data volumes are collected using files. We also recommend reserving space and backups in production systems.
CPU CPU requirements depend on the number of users and expected workload. Your exact needs may be higher depending on your workload. Your workload is influenced by factors such as, but not limited to, number of users, samples, analyses, and generated reports. 4 cores is the minimum recommended number of cores and sufficient for most use cases.
Network connectivity At least one dedicated IP address.
